"Challenge of your Rival" was my first serious attempt at piecing together an AMV. As such, it ended up going through a revision or two before ending up as the final version seen here. It's still not perfect - there's plenty about it now that I'd change or do differently if I was remaking it, but I'm going to leave it as it is now.
"Challenge of your Rival" specifically focuses on Kyo from Fruits Basket, and his penchant for getting into fights. And in Kyo's case, while he has one major rival in the form of Yuki, Hatsuharu also challenges him from time to time, which means he's in some sort of fight more often than not.
I first came up with the idea not long after seeing the end of the series. I wanted to create a Fruits Basket AMV that didn't focus on the romance in the series as so many others that I've seen do. I thought that "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor, featured in Rocky III would be very fitting for one based around Kyo, even moreso after reading over the lyrics for the song.
This video took me the better part of a week to finish completely. Tools used include Adobe Premiere for editing, and Adobe Photoshop to create extra frames to assist with the more difficult lip syncing.
