Character: Random ANBU member.
Series: Naruto Details: Well this costume really was pulled together quickly. In a week I pulled this together, doing the majority of the work the night before in a rush due to deadlines for essays X_x The costume worked out ok - and was pretty cheap to make but isn't a wonderful one. Given time I think I could have made this much better. Oh, and money... I had to use pillow stuffing instead of proper quilting material so it made me bulkier than I already am. Kudos to CamTarn who managed to take such nice pics this time - he's a good photographer with a better idea of what looks good once taken and processed on the computer. (Also he said I look nice when I smile naturally <3) The mask you can see on the third picture is actually made out of salt dough. Given the time restraints and clay just not cutting it I tried this and, after a few hours of baking made a servicable - if heavy - mask. This costume brought my my first funky-foam props. The armguards actually worked rather well considering they were stapled together. One last note is about the headband. The mask was too heavy to wear and I looked stupid without a headband so I just shoved on my own black head protector (made by CamTarn). It has a bunny symbol on it. Bunny ANBU. Yes. It honestly still looks better than without the headband. Hints and tips?: Hmm.. not many tips related to this except maybe that fast costumes can be made if you're willing to start from pre-made things. My "trousers" were just jogging trousers and my shirt a cheap turtleneck. The bases for the boot-sandle things only cost me 50p - but were painful to walk around in. (Oh and the kunai is mine, Mishi stole it ;_; Thieving bee-atch :P - CamTarn made me it for my birthday out of an old tire iron and a fence. ) |
