Character: Mitarashi Anko
Series: Naruto Details: Even though Anko hasn't played a really huge part in the series, I thought that she would be a fun character to cosplay. My favourite aspect was the coat, once it was finally finished. Nate, CamTarn and I made the coat from scratch - this costume owes a lot to them too. The sandals and shinguards turned out pretty well too. The shorts could have been much better. If there was one thing that I could redo about this costume, it would be replacing the shorts and the shirt with something a little more accurate. There were a group of Naruto cosplayers at Amecon, and we spent several hours having a photoshoot - it was a lot of fun! Hints and tips?: Polymer clay and leather thong works well for the little pendant that Anko has. Pop fasteners are also great for attaching the lower shinpad to the sandals - it also means that you can take off the shinpad and have a pair of regular sandals. |
