Tenten

Character: Tenten
Series: Naruto

Details: This costume was worn at AASOC's Weecon in Edinburgh. Due to deadlines being due in for some of my classes, I ended up with only a week's worth of evenings in which to make the costume x_x. Hence why I chose Tenten - she's another female character in Naruto that I like with a costume that was possibly to make quickly.

I was really pretty proud of how this cosplay turned out - especially the shirt. It started out as a horribly tacky, beaded shirt from TKMaxx, and ended up more or less accurate in the end. It's possibly a little too bright a shade of pink though.

Unfortunately, the trousers I ended up with had odd pockets that made them stick out weirdly. If I use the costume again, I'll probably sew the pockets down. I also ran out of time to finish the shuriken holder - it should have two sections, but only has one.

Hints and tips?: Crepe bandages tend to fall down in my experience. By sewing a vertical line through the bandages at the front and back of the trousers with strong thread, you can stop this from happening and still allow them to stretch. If you're using your own hair for Tenten's buns, it's better to plait your hair first. I found this out the hard way x_x;
